About Dreya

Hi there! I’m Dreya Blume.

I’ve worked with the tarot for almost twenty years. I started the same time I began my career as a social worker and psychotherapist, way back in 2004.

I love creating safe spaces for individuals and groups. Besides being a card reader and therapist, I’ve been a group facilitator and teacher for over half my life.

Whether it’s leading mindfulness retreats or teaching future social workers at my local college, I am dedicated to building learning communities focused on growth and healing.

In a nutshell, I’m passionate about curating transformational experiences.

I also enjoy writing and am the author of several books about tarot (under my former name). Connecting with my creative energy truly makes me feel alive!

Where my magic lives

As a transgender woman who transitioned later in life, I’m all too familiar with how we keep ourselves safe - and small. The prospect of coming out to myself and then to the people around me was terrifying. But I went ahead.

And I’m glad I did.

Finally showing up in the world as my authentic self was the greatest gift I could give myself.

Life is short and there is no time to waste.

And so I offer you what I needed most when I was younger.

Encouragement and hope. Kindness and empathy.

Deep listening and compassion.

An invitation into a judgement-free zone.

Because of my background as a therapist, I know how to hold space for a person to process their emotions.

But I’ll also be direct when necessary. Sugar-coating doesn’t serve your highest good, and I know how to be gentle yet firm when it comes to feedback.

Your time is precious, so we’ll make the most of it. After all, your soul has been waiting…

Some fun facts about me

  • I used to teach English as a Second Language and have lived in Japan, Thailand, Australia and Hawaii.

  • The most remote place I’ve ever been is the Golden Triangle (where Myanmar, Thailand and Laos meet).

  • I LOVE cats. In another life I’d be breeding British Shorthairs.

  • Tibetan and crystal singing bowls resonate so deeply with me. And gongs. Listening to a gong is like experiencing the universe being born…

  • I’m a drummer (djembe and congas). Playing music takes me to my happy place.

  • In high school, I would blush deeply every time the teacher called on me. Things are better now, but it’s still easy to make me turn red :)

  • I learned conversational Spanish as an adult and am so glad I did. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t learn a language later in life!
